Wakeboarding 26 July 09 084

David is a Level 1 CrossFit trainer and mechanical engineer.  In 2006 when he became bored with traditional weighting routines, he began to perform circuits using traditional movements like pushups, pullups, and squats. This achieved more intensity during workouts and decreased his time spent in the gym.  Shortly after meeting in 2007, Jeff and David discovered a common interest in fitness, and based on his interest in high-intensity circuits, Jeff suggested David look into CrossFit.  David began experimenting with CrossFit in early 2007.  He went 100% CrossFit in the summer of 2007 with no regrets.  David is attracted to the measurable and functional aspects of CrossFit.  When he’s not CrossFitting, David enjoys wakeboarding, snowboarding, and other outdoor activities.

Jeff Barnett is a Level 1 CrossFit trainer, mechanical engineer, and former Marine.  He was introduced to CrossFit in 2006 after which he began programming CrossFit-style workouts into his then “Globo-Gym” routine.  In May 2007 he went 100% CrossFit and hasn’t looked back.  Jeff appreciates CrossFit’s scientific and mathematical roots and constantly seeks to apply CrossFit’s models of health and fitness to everyday life.  Jeff enjoys shooting, wakeboarding, and writing.  He is a contributing editor for Primer magazine, and has been a guest op-ed columnist for the New York Times on their Frontlines and Homefires columns.  His experience as an active duty Marine from 2003-2007 and deployment to Fallujah in 2006 gives him a unique perspective.
