Kudos to the Saturday morning class for their hard work on this AMRAP! Jakub stepped it up a notch by using 53-lbs. kettlebells.
I decided to lay off the shoulder some more and work on one of my many weaknesses, endurance. I mapped out 5 miles from my house on Gmaps pedometer. I am trying to get to the point of running barefoot or with minimal shoe support so I ran the 5 miles in my Chucks. My goal was to complete it. I finished in 43:35. I was happy with that running the entire mileage in Chucks. Heel strikes get corrected quickly.
On a lark I joined my wife this morning in the Firecracker 5k. Surprised myself with a 22:58. I can only attribute that to crossfit as I only very occasionally run.
Wow. Nice job David and Davey!
I did a hotel workout here in Atlanta. Was intrigued by today’s 50 lb dumbbell push jerk, and the hotel has 50 lb dumbbells, so I did
70 dumbbell push jerks (50 lb dumbbells)
every minute on the minute perform 7 burpees
Finished in 9:42. This was much worse than I thought it’d be. The first 15-20 push jerks came in the first minute. After that they came in 5-6s for a couple minutes. After that burpees were requiring 20-30 seconds and I did good to knock out 4-5 push jerks in the remaining time between burpees.

The above comment is from me.
I did Thursday’s WOD at home today. Finished in 18:12. The best part was finally figuring out how to do a band assisted kipping pull up on about the 6th round. Pretty stoked about that…. Hope everyone has an awesome 4th!
Did today’s wod at the house (late night welcoming my cousin back from her mission trip around the world). Slightly modified, 27″ railroad tie jumps and 45 lb dumbbell push jerks. Finished 19 rounds and felt like going straight to bed after I was done.
Ran 5k in around 25 minutes.
Yesterday I did a hotel WOD in Atlanta with Jeff.
For time:
30lb dumbbell front squats, 60 reps
6 burpees on the minute every minute
Time: 9:50
I was able to get 9 for the first two minutes after that I was lucky to get 5. This one was tough and if you did not push yourself there was potential not to be able to get any dumbbell action because you took to long on the burpees. Difficult little workout.
Congrats Davy on the run! That is a really good time! Way to push through David! Love the railroad tie jumps Andrew and Megan way to think outside the box — literally 🙂
