  1. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeff that is hilarious. I can’t stop laughing. I’m going to have to give you 2 points for a reversal there. Davids was funny, yours is hilarious. The sh!t is on now. By the way, if you decide to print this on a shirt I’ll take two.

  2. This was taken at the Morgan County Tractor Pull and Mud Bog Championships. It was a touching moment when the Decatur mayor’s wife (pictured above in center) announced that all proceeds from the 4 mile long yardsale, which accompanied the event, would go toward helping fight the battle against morbid obesity in local deer hunters.

  3. First and foremost I would like to give David credit for his awesome dosey doe form. Perfect!

Today my time was 15:00 OR 19:10 with the ring rows instead of pull ups. The reason for the 2 times is because apparently when I am working hard and can’t breathe I might also not be able to count, and there is a very small chance that I missed the round of 15 sit ups/pull ups. As soon as I was done and realized what might have happened, I went and did the round of 15 again just in case, because I didn’t want to miss any part of the workout which would have brought my time to about 19:10 with a kind of large delay in time from when I realized what might have happened. Sorry for the long explanation! Also thank you Greg for attempting to help me with working on my pull ups without the band! I still can’t do it, but with all the practice and helpful hints from people, someday it will happen and I will throw a party.

  4. You all are jealous of that nice Morgan County line dancing form I have going on. I forgot to wear my cowboy boots, ball busting Wranglers, and extra large belt buckle. Oh, and it doesn’t appear that I have my fat wod of Skoal nor am I wearing my cowboy hat. I will work on my attire for the next event.

  5. David, you need to work on developing your cankles. Also, LORD OF THE DANCE called and wants your jig back.

So you know when you get your eye exam, and the Dr. will say, “which lens looks better: number 1 or number 2?” and then you pick number 2. And then he says, “ok, number 3 or number 4?” and then you think- wait a second, is he trying to trip me up? You’re afraid to pick because you may pick the wrong one. You’re thinking, If I pick number 4, isn’t that close to number 1, which I said I DIDNT like? And then you confuse yourself, afraid that your eyes can’t tell what they like. That’s how ring rows were for me today.

I’m getting so close to pull-ups. I can do blue-band assisted pull-ups, and the loads I can lift are gradually increasing in weight, yet when I was having to do ring rows today, my body was defective and struggled with them What the H? I should have the strength to pull myself up, yet I was really struggling and had to do “super easy” ring rows..and even those were hard. Even Hudson noticed. What does this mean??!! It’s like a double rainbow across the sky, and yet I cannot determine the meaning. Am I weaker? Do I have bad form? Is my body betraying me? sigh…

    20:39 today.

  6. Erin, you’ve been doing CrossFit for about a month now, right? The progress you’ve made in a month is very obvious and I hope it’s encouraging. But you shouldn’t be disappointed that you can’t do 81 blue band pullups or even 81 difficult ring rows today. Your body just can’t adapt that quickly. Training under fatigue also makes things totally different. During David’s chipper I knew that I wouldn’t be able to do the HSPUs unbroken or the deadlift unbroken, even though 20 HSPUs and 10 deadlifts at 250 lbs is not a big deal for me. It’s not a big deal when I’m fresh. Seven minutes into a high intensity workout, it’s a much bigger deal. Training your energy production pathways is just as important as developing the muscular and neurological components of training. Many of us previously trained in just 1 or 2 pathways. The oxidative pathway (long, steady-state endurance) is a favorite of many people. The phospho-creatine pathway (short, explosive strength) is a favorite of many men. However, the glycolytic pathway (medium duration, medium load effort) can eat our lunch, especially when we’re not accustomed to it. Depleting our muscles’ energy stores can reduce the strongest athletes to not being able to do a single pushup. I’ve been there. I know many of you have as well.

You are adapting–tremendously. Just keep at it and don’t be discouraged by what you think you should be able to do. You’re expecting too much from yourself too early. Just work hard every day, as you’re doing, and you’ll get there. Focus on your tremendous progress and hitting goals over weeks and months rather than goals for a single movement on a single WOD. Hope that helps.

    1. i know, jeff, you’re right, and thanks for the explanation. I’m just so competitive (mostly with myself), and I need to do better at taking each day as it comes. I’m being whiny lol. I am definitely pleased with the improvement thus far though, and I have to remember it’s only been a month. Apparently I’m impatient!

  7. Patience young padawan, patience!

Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is Crossfit, and a powerful ally it is. Some guy created it, made it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel Crossfit around you; here, between you, me, the keyboard, the mouse, cyberspace, everywhere, yes. Even between the pull-up bar and the kettlebell.”

Double rainbow, hard to understand, yes…must meditate.

    1. master yoda, the force wanted me to make sure you saw this link:

It will explain what you need to know about the double rainbow.

      1. Hard to see, the double rainbow is…go into exile I must, failed have I.

  8. My time was 14:30…had to do blue band assisted pull-ups. This was my first time in the noon class…and it pretty much kicked my tush. Leah, I have found, pushes me to my limit!!! Her fetus has magical circus-freak powers!!! Great class!!!

Was neck in neck with Jordan the whole way until that tramp passed me up on the situps and into the lunges last round. Thanks for the push, lady. It kept me moving. Situps were my goat on this wod.

Workouts like yesterdays and todays show me how lop sided I am. Metcons I do well, and strength based workouts I suck at. I’m very frustrated at my NON-well roundedness.

  10. 9:49 Rx’d

As I told Jordan after class, I’m going to stop sharing post-WOD tips if she continues to beat my times. Daniel came damn close as well. Enjoyed competing with David and Jakub in the 5:00 class. Lots of great effort in the 6:15. Yaneth and Brittany really made some strides in their pullup capacities. Christina also did well, performing many of her pullup sets unbroken.

  11. 13:19 rx’d

round 12, 9, and 6 were unbroken. I got 17 on the first round. It is difficult for me not to jump off the bar after 10 because I know I can do those pretty much every time I get on the bar. However, I have been trying to push myself more these last couple of months to be able to get 15 fairly comfortably. I am getting better, but not there yet.

  12. 9:44 Rx’d

I like the wod beta Jeff! Thanks! This one was uncomfortable but I tried to stay calm mentally and it seemed to help me alot. Daniel pushed me as well, that always helps. I’m gonna be sore tomorrow…
