Reasons you should make
CrossFit Impulse your gym home.
Thick Toilet Paper
That’s right. The only thing CrossFitters do more than talk about CrossFit is poop. And when it happens at CrossFit Impulse, you won’t be fighting a stingy metallic dispenser to get a few square inches of sandpaper. We stock thick, Charmin, weapons-grade toilet paper–plus wet wipes to finish the job right. It costs us more, but your bum is worth it. You’ll find we stock many things you wouldn’t expect for free: ample amounts of chalk (no sharing a quarter-sized piece of chalk with three neighbors), multiple types of tape, antiseptics, hygiene products, hair ties, and much more.
Level 2 Coaches Running the Show
Level 2 Trainers have additional training that helps them lead our rockstar coaching staff. Every part of our class is designed to give you the best experience possible. We lead you through everything and assume nothing. All you have to do to have a great time and get a great workout is show up, That’s because of the incredible coaches we have running the show.
100% CPR and AED Certified
100% of our coaches are CPR and AED certified. They don’t just take an online test either. They do real, hands-on training with CPR dummies and our own AED—in our own facility.
No tricks. No gimmicks.
Tired of the sales pitch that teases you with some free information, then adds you to an email list and bothers you twice a week until you have to block them? Tired of being told, “Message me for details?” Yeah, us too. We don’t do contracts. We think you’re gonna love CrossFit Impulse so much that you want to keep coming month after month. We’re not going to BS you. I can’t promise we’re perfect, but I do promise complete integrity with every interaction. No tricks. No gimmicks.
Experience Counts
CrossFit Impulse started in 2009. We’ve had a lot of time to figure out the right and wrong ways to do things.
Keeping It Clean
Greg Glassman, the founder of CrossFit, once said he could use a single question to separate a good affiliate from a bad one: “How clean is your bathroom?” He further explained that knowledge and coaching can be learned. But a lack of cleanliness means a lack of caring, and that is fatal. Our bathrooms are clean, like the rest of the gym, because we care. In addition to our internal cleaning processes, we are partnered with an outside organization CleanLab, who spend hours per week sanitizing out facility top to bottom.
Excellence in Coaching
Level 1 is the basic requirement for a CrossFit trainer. But a CrossFit Level 1 Certification isn’t enough to put on the coach’s shirt and lead a class at CrossFit Impulse. In addition to being Level 1 certified, all our coaches must complete a rigorous internship process. Our internship course is completely home-grown, and it’s not easy. Here are some stats on it:
- Duration: 5 months
- Classroom Instruction: 14 hours
- Written Assignments: 8
- Observing Coaching: 6 hours
- Supervised Coaching: 18 hours
- Independent Coaching: 5 hours
Additionally, interns are taught leadership, communication, scientific principles of programming, class management, anatomy, nutrition, bioenergetics, sports psychology, and must generally be rockstars.
The People
But the absolute best thing about CrossFit Impulse is the athletes that call it their gym home. You won’t find a better group of people anywhere. Every day they will push you to be a better athlete and a better person. They are fun, smart, and will help you shoulder any burden. If you need people like that in your life, then CrossFit Impulse may be the right place for you. Find out more by scheduling a free intro to CrossFit Impulse with one of our friendly coaches!
