WOD Demo with Laurie Gallasi and Dave Leys – video [wmv] [mov]
It was nice to join the morning class again! I just so happened to be awake at 4:30, and I thought what else would I do? Ended up with 76 pounds with this WOD, but I think I can do more–I just got tired!
Is it just me or does Lipson consistently lack depth? Not to say that he’s not a monster but it just seems like a bad example.
I agree he’s definitely on the hairy edge of full depth in that video. His 500 lb front squat was close too, but they showed it in slow motion again and I think it was indeed full depth.
Everyone picked up on snatch balance extremely fast in the 6:30 class. Biggest fault I noticed was landing with too wide a stance when dropping under the bar. Congrats to you guys and ladies that made great progress correcting this and getting to proper depth!
Also, BIG ups to Katie for committing to dropping under the bar on her final attempt at squat clean…. and PR’ing!! Ummmmm, you ladies might wanna check the leader board tomorrow……little girl made a big lift.

Need a lot of work here.
Congrats to Lisa Fink as well! She blew up the leader board on consecutive double unders! Good job, girl!

Worked with Jordan on this lift. Highlight of the WOD came on the 6th rep when David screamed “NO REP!!” and made the “safe!” baseball gesture quite enthusiastically. Whether being serious or kidding, I still counted it as a “not legit” rep because of my bunny hop with the bar overhead. Either way, Daniel and Jordan confirmed the 7th rep legitness.
Awesome job, Jordan for 140# PR!!
