Power Week 1

In this block of training we will perform a lot of snatches and clean & jerks in EMOM format. We are embarking on Ben Bergeron’s “Beast Builder” EMOM series for clean and jerk. I decided to dial back his “version 1” and start us at “version 0″ to see how it stacks with the other volume. On the snatch side we will be doing heavy Isabel in EMOM format each week…increasingly shorter EMOMs. Hopefully by the end of the cycle you’ll be knocking out Isabel in 4-5 minutes at 185/115 lbs.

The Absolute Open continues this week. I have programmed the workout for Monday so we can get it out of the way and focus on our training the rest of the week.

With a new cycle there will be learning as I figure out the right amount of volume and how these new pieces will interact with each other. Listen to your body and don’t be afraid to turn things up or down based on how you feel.
