We just want to say a big congratulations to all the CrossFit Impulse athletes who participated in the 2017 CrossFit Open. You guys did an awesome job! There were PRs all over the place, hard work everywhere you looked, and determination from everyone. It was truly inspiring to watch all of you work so hard to test your skills each week. We would also like to extend a special congratulations to Neal Currie, who tied for 8th in his age group in the Masters division. This is a truly incredible finish out of about 3500 people worldwide. He will be going on to compete in the Masters Qualifier in hopes of qualifying for the Southeast Regionals. We are so proud to call him coach!
I also want to extend a huge congratulations to Jeff and Christina on the birth of their beautiful baby boy, Grahame! They are already proving to be exceptional parents and we are all excited to see them grow as a family.
New Amazing Coaches!
We would like to formally welcome our two newest coaches, Coach Maurice and Coach Josh. They both successfully completed the CFI Internship program this year and will make awesome additions to our already awesome coaching team. Make sure to congratulate them when you see them and expect to see them leading some of your classes.
Fundamentals
We custom schedule both Fundamentals and Fast Track courses to each individual’s schedule. Call, email, and send your friends our way. We schedule free intros throughout the week and pride ourselves on making everyone of any ability level feel comfortable and get started with CrossFit the right way.
Check-in on Facebook
For some of you newer athletes, you may not have gotten all the information about Sweat Angles. This is a charity that works with CrossFit Gyms to make donations to the charity of the month. Every time you come in to the gym and check in on Facebook, a donation is made. In February, we helped puppies! March’s donations went to feed ONE, which provides meals for children in need.

New Class Announcement- Gymnastics Class
Beginning April 1st @ 10am
One of our newest coaches, Coach Josh, has a unique strength in gymnastics, and he’s going to share that with all of you during our new gymnastics class! The class will meet at 10am on Saturday mornings starting Saturday, April 1st. This is no April Fools joke–this is as real as it gets! The class is applicable to every skill level from “I can’t do a pushup yet.” to “I want to perfect my front lever.” Just like CrossFit, gymnastics can be scaled for anyone. The class will focus on teaching you skills and giving you guided practice at those skills.
Some skills you will practice: handstands, ring muscle ups, handstand pushups, bar muscle ups, pullups, forward rolls, toes to bar, core control, and much more!
The class lasts one hour. You can expect a warmup, about 30 minutes of skill development and practice, and a short prac-ap session. You will work hard and you will get sweaty. You will do some drills and routines “on the clock.” But high-intensity exercise is not the goal of this class. This class is about improving your gymnastic skills to make you better at your high intensity exercise during the week.
Josh has some great classes planned for you, so I want you to welcome him by attending his first class on April 1st!

CrossFit Total Meet
Saturday, April 22
Join us at CFI Saturday April, 22nd at 9 am for a CrossFit Total mock weightlifting meet. If you have never been to or participated in a meet, this is an awesome opportunity to learn how weightlifting meets are run. All CFI athletes and all ability levels are encouraged to sign up, but you must sign up before Saturday if you wish to participate. The sign-up sheet is on the counter and space is limited to sixteen athletes, 13 male and 13 female. We will also need folks to sign up to volunteer to help with the event. We will need weight loaders/unloaders, score keepers, and few more. The meet will take place of the 9 am class; however, open gym space will be available during the meet.
David McKannan Memorial 5k and Fun Run

“Athletes/coaches, the fight to raise awareness and fundraising for ALS research has been a passion of mine since my stepfather, David McKannan, was diagnosed in 2010. David was a fierce competitor, and that’s exactly how he faced his battle with ALS. Anybody who knows me understands my “love” for running, but every year I try and honor David’s memory by giving it all I have at the David McKannan memorial 5k. Come on out and join us for a great cause, and possibly motivate me to run a little faster!” – Kenny
