  1. 3 rounds + 400m + 10 wallball shots. I also missed about 7 wall ball shots due to my aim.

  2. Glad everyone was a good sport about the strict judging on wall ball shots. That’s not something we want to do every wall ball WOD, but it’s beneficial once in a while to reinforce the accuracy component, which is one of the ten general physical skills. Andy is a machine on wall ball because of his height and squat capacity. I bet he could have placed well on WOD 2 at sectionals.

Fundamentals 2 had a great team WOD today. Brittany, Oscar, and Gean won by only 5 reps on a 500+ rep WOD!

Thanks to Jordan for the expired fire hose. Now I’m off to google to find a way to put it to good use, or at least what I consider “good use” 🙂

  3. I got exactly 4 rounds on this WOD. Although the last three wall-balls were probly not up to standard… so I’m gonna say I got 3 rounds and 37 wall-ball shots cuz my conscience was killing me.

Jeff, after you asked me how many gpm that hose could flow my heart sank. If my captain was to ask me that and I couldn’t remember I would be in deep shit! So I want to thank you for prompting a lengthy review session out of my FF essentials book today. A handline stream (supplied by a 1 1/2 to 3 inch hose) will flow anywhere from 40 to 350 gpm. That pressure is determined by the pump operator and other pressure factors like friction loss and elevation loss/gain. As far as the larger supply line, that depends on the hydrant flow. Class AA or light blue hydrants can flow 1,500 gpm or greater. Class A or green hydrants can flow 1,000 – 1,499. Class B or orange hydrants can flow 500 – 999 gpm and class C or red hydrants flow less than 500 gpm. Although, local coloring variations may vary.

  4. I had no idea that hydrant color denoted flow rate. I’m glad my question helped, although I’m sure you understand I had no idea I was putting you on the spot–just genuinely curious. I did a lot of reading this afternoon about the FCC. I think we can pull off a pretty good simulation of it if I can find a suitable staircase. I was thinking stadium steps, which would also allow you to do the hose hoist from the top. I was also thinking of using a military gas mask to restrict oxygen intake, unless you have access to the scba mask.
