Jakub rocked this one, setting a double under PR of 50 on the first round. Lori made it 2/3 up the rope today! She really improved her technique, and I think a full climb is in the cards next time.
This morning I did strength work with bench press and high pulls from the rack. Worked up to 260×1 on bench, which is 5 lbs short of my all-time PR from the days of high school, creatine, 2-hour workouts, and bench press twice a week. It’s a 15 lb PR over a couple months ago, so I’m pretty pleased with that. I went for 270, but it crushed me.
16:24 on the Gold standard on jumprope and used a 10 lbs meicine ball for the twofers. First round I tried for double unders and I got them, but I wasn’t linking them well so I traded out to the 4×50 to get through the workout.
Did Silver on this one…
3 rounds for time:
3 x 50 DU
30 single wall-balls with 10 lb medicine ball
Time: 12:35
Great Job everyone!!
Did Gold on this one…
3 rounds for time:
4 x 50 DU
25 Wallball “2-fer-1s” with a 8# ball
Time: 12:24
Thanks for all the encouragement this morning as I tried to do the rope climb. A full rope climb is in the near future!!
Another big fundamentals class! Nice to see all the new faces and some familiar ones. I look forward to the opportunity to meet all of you.
Gold 15:45. I had one medicine ball that was a good 12″ from ceiling beam. If I didn’t give it some air I was eating the medicine ball on its way down.
Gold standard. Did 200 single unders and 14 lb ball. That is a lot of counting for an infantry guy. Like Steven and Jonathan I decided to go higher on the wall ball to get more time for that second squat. See everyone Friday. I am off to Colo Spgs.
Silver for me.
150 singles
30 wallballs 8#
15:25
Welcome to the new folks!!
Oh and welcome back Hudson!
Good to have Hudson back pushing me through…9:56 rx’d. Managed to get through this one without taking a ball to the face!
-I’m with Christina…I’m sure the Crossfit gods could conjure up “Karen on Caffeine” here soon..
Awesome time, Michael. I thought sub-10 would be possible after watching Jakub this morning.
Did this workout with an 8lb ball and 25 double-unders. Time was 16:16. The 2-feers were difficult and linking double-unders became challenging after round one. I look forward to doing this one a few more times.
Welcome back Hudson! You were missed.
14:34 10# ball
I was able to link about 10 DUs at a time during the warmup and a max of 3 or 4 during the WOD. I was quite frustrated with this. I keep waiting for it click. Today was not the day.
14:04 Rx. Had a horrible time linking DUs after the first round. Unlike Micheal, I did not make it through without taking a med-ball to the face. Good lunch class though. There was a lot of new faces who helped raise the energy level a little bit.
13:51 rx’d
Well had to take a rest day again but I was so stoked to be able to work out I ran 2 miles in my Vibrams 15:24. Not my best but it felt good to run a good distance in my Vibrams again. See you guys tomorrow I hope.
Second workout of the day.
6 rounds for time:
400m run
25 jumping burpees with ~7inch target
time: 32:25
10:41 Gold (14# 2fer1 WBS, 200 singles)
Didn’t even attempt DU’s during WOD, but still got a tough workout with the singles. 200 will definitely get your heart pumping. Spent some time after class working on the DU’s and have the welts on my shins to prove it. I need to practice that skill after the classes!
9:22 Rx’d
16:13 with a 10 # ball…and does having the ball land on your head and rolling into your arms after the second squat considered legal??? Haha…good times…but explaining the bruises on my face at work may get a little crazy…”So what happened was…I was throwing this ball in the air to hit a blue line…while squatting twice….then…oh never mind”
Subbed chest to bar pullups for wall ball 2-fer-1s
3 rounds
50 DUs
25 CTB pullups
5:57
16:48 10#
Just couldn’t link DUs. Incredibly frustrated during and after the workout but Browntown’s rendition of “Concentrate” made up for it.
I made up Sunday’s WOD, 5 rounds of 5 squat clean thrusters and 7 CTB pull-ups (scaled down a few reps for intesity). I finished in a time of 9:22. Very difficult workout! The intesity was high enough that I felt like puking once or twice. Was surprised at my ability to complete the pull-ups. Jeff saw me in cahoots with the green band before the workout and quickly put an end to that business. Thanks for keeping me honest man.
