Excellent WOD Demo with Miranda Oldroyd – Notice the use of violent hip extension, hook grip, and breath control.  [wmv] [mov]

  1. Great way to start the morning today with Gus, Steven, Ben, Michelle, Mike J., and Thadd. Mike made it up the rope for the first time during skill work (note to later classes, bring your rope climbing attire, whatever that may be). Steven did really well, finishing with 185×1, and Michelle finally conquered 85 lbs, even if not for all 3 reps.

Afterwards I did strength work: Back squat 3-3-3-3-3-3-3
    225-245-250-255-260-265 (3rd not to depth)-265 (legit)
265 is 10 lbs off my 3RM, so I’m happy with that for not having trained heavy back squat for a few months.

      1. Thanks man. It’s a long way from where I would like to be right now. If I had been smart then I could be at 300+ triples right now, but ifs and buts, berries and nuts, that thing…

  2. 85-95-105-110-115-120(x)-120-125-130(x)

I got 125 and went for 130. I nailed the first 2 reps and went to my knees on the last one. Oh well, maybe next time.

  3. Thanks for sharing a bar tonight with me Robyn!!
I did hanging power clean: 55-65-70-75-85-90-95(2)-95
Then I did 100 once just to see if I could do it, and I succeeded. Had a lot of fun tonight! Great job everyone!

  4. Hang Power Clean Rx’d

    135-155-175-185-195-205(2)-205

Thanks to the push from Daniel and Jeremy I was able to get that last set.

  5. I subbed HPCs for Tuesday’s Hang Power Snatches, due to my bum shoulder. So instead of doing them again on Thursday, I ran 5k at the leisurely pace of 5:25 per km. I somehow got the notion to do the Turkey Trot 5k on Thanksgiving, so I figured I should get a run in before then.

  6. Bummed that I only managed 1 rep at 100 on round 7… I really wanted triple digits. Maybe next time I guess!
