Annie Thorisdottir on today’s WOD – video [wmv] [mov]
Hi all. Wanted to update from snowy NYC. I dropped into crossfit Gotham and was immediately welcomed. They meet in the basement of a church and adapt extremely well to their space. Their “box” is stored in a closet and everything gets taken out and put back up for the WOD. As a result they have to be very flexible.
Today we worked on squat cleans. After 1×7, we did death by squat cleans/ front squats. (we had to clean the bar from the ground and then basically do front squats). I struggled as I always with the front squat but got some great pointers.
I look forward to sharing my experience as it was a completely new way of working out.
After the article on working out while being sick, I think I will stay home for a couple more days. I have been sick since Christmas Eve and have an appointment today at 230pm. I think I have strep but who knows. It sucks. I miss CFI like crazy. It has been almost a week and push-ups and sit-ups are getting old π I hope to see you soon when I get better.
85-95-95-100x-95-95-100 pr by 10# π Great seeing you guys at lunch today!
Great job Michelle! I cannot believe I missed you at lunch… boo.

85-95-105-110(2)-115 (pr by 5#)-120 (failed 2x) The breathing techniques that Hudson told really helped me with the 115. The 120 attempt I just wouldn’t drop under it. Great seeing everyone at lunch!!
I FINALLY LINKED MY KIPPING PULL UPS:-)
Work it, girl. Nice job!
85-95-105-115-125-135-145(PR)
I tried 150# several times and got very close but I guess I’ll have to beat Zan some other day.
85-95-105-115-120(X)-120(X)-120(PR)
Gotta work on dropping under the bar more, thanks for the help Jeff!
Was great to see Katie and Tesha aggressively hit PRs on their final lifts during the 6:30 class. I enjoyed working out with the 4:00, but boy does my blood hurt because of it.
200, 205, 215, 225x, 220x, 220x, 217.5(R)x
Head game came into play in this one.
Previous time I did this WOD on Sept. 10 was 155, 170, 180, 190, 200, 210x, 210 so happy with the progress overall. The last set in today’s WOD was my attempt at a “Christina-bias” placement of the weights. Basically an extra 2.5 lb. plate on the right-hand side.
Wanted to get 230 lb. or more considering I hit 225 lb. at the recent ground to overhead affiliate WOD, but I’m satisfied with today’s performance considering I didn’t workout at all last week and was sick for most of it.
135-155-155(old pr)-175-185-205(new pr)-185
Pretty pumped to break my old pr by 50 lbs. Thanks christina and jakub for the tips and encouragement.
185-205-215-225-245(f)-235(PR)-245(F)
All mental on 245, got the weight high enough both times and didn’t get far enough under.
75, 85, 85, 95f, 95f, 85, 90. Along with Katie, I gotta work on diving under the bar. Thanks for the great coaching Jeff! Congrats to Katie for an awesome finish at the end of the 6:30pm class!
