  1. This will be my first time doing max split jerks… we’ll see how that goes. Sucks that the field exercise ran long. Had to take this as a rest day. See yall tomorrow! =)

  2. Rest day hope everyone PR’s and I have to overtake some guys on the board. Except Jakub….And Hudson…And Charlie…Hell nevermind Good luck guys.

  3. 115 – 135 – 155 – 175fail – 175fail – 175 – 185fail

Overwhelming pansy-ness snuck up on me and kept me from having the courage to drop underneath the bar deep enough once the weight got heavy. I really feel like I could have gotten the 185 had I just dropped under it. Always next time. I enjoyed this workout though.

      1. Russell, I am not totally fixed yet but making progress. Over two weeks of some minor hip exercises I gained some ROM in my hips and pulled my left rib cage back closer to neutral. It was higher than the right. Now, I will be working to pull my scapulas down. My traps just don’t like being turned off!

  4. Did yesterdays workout today.
    Seven rounds for time:
    3 Front Squat 115#
    7 L-Pullups
    Time: 9:10 Rx’d

  5. Great classes tonight! A lot of people PR tonight and many new athletes nailed the Split Jerk! Jason I think made the most improve from start to finish! Great job to everyone tonight.

    Did the WOD myself today:
    65-75-85-95 (F)- 90-90-95 (PR)

  6. First time trying the split jerk:
    135 – 155 – 175 – 185x – 180x – 180x – 165 – 180

Worked with Hudson, glad I did as he pushed me to use heavier weight.
I would have progressed slower with the weight by myself.

Have to work on my technique and form with this movement.
With heavier weight and a movement I’m not real familiar with I began to doubt myself in being able to complete the rep.

It wasn’t until the 8th set, yes I did an extra set, that I was able to get myself bound and determined to get 180 up.
Glad I gave it one more shot…

  7. 125LBS PR

Some how..I couldnt count today and had to keep asking “how much is this?” (Thanks Zan and Christina). First time doing a split jerk max. Thanks to Daniel for making me redo my last set (lol) “for the camera”. The atmosphere in the box really made my day 🙂 i’m gonna miss yall!

Nicole for my last workout.. really? lol I’ll be there!

    1. Monique, feelings are mutual. You will be missed too. It’s been good having you in our box!

    2. Hate that you have to leave Monique! You were fun to workout with. Next time you come to visit the box, I challenge you to another crab crawl race!!

You sure made your mark on the leader board while you were here! You will be missed!

    3. I’m sad to see you go, Monique. It’s humbling to have ladies in the gym who can kick my ass. Take care back at your permanent duty station.

  8. 115 – 135 – 155 – 185 – 195(PR) – 205(f) – 205(f)

Worked with Daniel on this one. Fun move but I definitely need some work on my form.

  9. Late posting my results from Wednesday’s workout as usual. The split jerk was a new movement for me. Much thanks to Christina for talking me through most of my reps and helping me get the form down. I could tell when I was doing it right–the bar felt like nothing and I could feel the muscles in my front leg supporting me–but if I did it wrong, the bar might as well have been 500 pounds.

    65 – 75 – 85 – 85 – 95 – 105 – 110(f) – 110(PR–of course, they all were)

Almost as important as learning (though not mastering) a new movement, I did all 15 of the pull-ups in the warm-up without the band. I did them in doubles and singles, but it was all me this time.
