  1. Great pic of perfect deadlift starting position. Heels 12-18 inches apart. Bar against shins. Bar directly under scapulae. Flat back. Neutral head.

  2. I hate to miss a running WOD, but I’m doing mothers day stuff this afternoon in Huntsville. You guys enjoy sprinting those miles today.

  3. Still haven’t made it in. I did the Total in my Garage today.

    Back squat: 170# (PR)
Shoulder press: 80# (Same as my last PR)
    Deadlift: 175#

I did way too many reps to get the back squat number, but flexibility was what was holding me back before. I had no wrist or shoulder pain this time so I moved up until I couldn’t take it any more. I still don’t have much overhead strength; I can push press and push jerk more, but just muscling it up kills me. I went way down on my DLs, but that is to be expected both because of the strain from three weeks ago and because I am getting realigned with the PRI exercises from Eagle Rehab.

  4. Incredible PRs from Tristan, Zan, and Jordan today. Tristan and Zan PR’d deadlift by 30 and 45 lbs, respectively. Incredible to watch.

Once again, my progress has stalled on shoulder press and back squat while my deadlift creeps up. I stayed within the 3 lift rule today.

    BS 300-320-330(f)
    SP 155-170-175(f)
    DL 425-455(pr)-460(pr)
    Total: 950

  5. Also want to congratulate Russell on an incredible performance on Jerry. Only a handful of seconds off the main site example time.

  6. Did total today and it was awesome to see my progress. Last time I did total was in December and I PR’d by 185 lbs.

Went with three lift rule as well
    BS: 255 275(PR) 300(PR)
    SP: 105 115(PR) 135(F)
    DL: 345 365(PR) 385(PR)

    Total: 800(PR)

Thanks Jeff for watching me and coaching me in your rest periods. I was really happy to PR as much as I did with everything. Ole’ Flexy Hips still shocks me with her DL’s and congrats to Jordan for a DL PR.

And Russell for killing Jerry today way to go.

    1. Tristan I think you win the most consistent PR’s — Every time I hear of you doing a lift you always seem to be PR’ing to some great level. Congrats on all of your lifts yesterday… Your form looked rock solid! Night and Day from when you first came through our doors. Congrats again!

  7. Crossfit total: 515
    back squat: 155-160-165-175x-170x
    Shoulder Press: 45-65-75-85 (PR)-95x
    deadlift: 155-205-215-225-235-245-265(PR)-270x
Congrates to all the great PRs everyone had today…awesome job!

  8. Thought the video was interesting, Eric Siegel said his mile PR was 5:40. That was my PR in the mile (1600m) on a track right after high school. My most recent mile PR on a track was 5:56. Hopefully that will change this weekend…

The beginning of the second mile after the row was horrible, you can see Eric’s experience with it in the video. Mine was similar. Trying to get my legs to move was hard and my arms were just useless, felt like I was just swinging dead weight from my shoulders. I thought I was going to die, but it seemed that the blood got flowing again and I was able to pick up my pace.

    Splits:
    Mile: 6:12
2km Row: ~08:30, close to 9:00 with transition times
    Mile 2: ~7:08
    Total: 22:22

Awesome watching people PR on CrossFit Total, need to get a shot at that to see how much I’ve improved since late-February.

Zan was just crazy on the deadlift, it wasn’t until 265 that it looked like she was having a hard time.

My favorite moment was when Jeff was telling Zan to get everything tight and then pull as hard as she could on 245 and when Zan starts to pull you hear Jeff say “Good God!” as she pulls it up with ease. Jeff was giving her the heavy-weight confidence speech and she didn’t need it at all… or at least didn’t look like it.

Great seeing people work hard on Jerry and Total PRs.
