Tabata “Bottom to Bottom” Squat

Clock starts for run on rising from last squat.

The Tabata Bottom to Bottom Squat is a Tabata Squat but each rep begins at the bottom and ends at the bottom. The turn around at the top is immediate – no pause. The ten-second rest for each interval is also held at the bottom of the squat as opposed to the top. Interestingly, this squat, in contrast to the “normal” Tabata squat, motivates full hip extension. Also, the ten second rests don’t seem as short with this protocol!

  2. I enjoyed working with Michelle, Kurt, Katie, and Greg B. in the morning class. Michelle improved her kipping technique during the skill work and Katie led the pack in the workout!

    I scored an 8 on the board but after I could think again I realized I was way off, this was a classic case of diminishing returns on effort and brain cells. My tabata score was 18,18,15,15,13,12,12. Great programming though, I love how so many CF wods can simulate a brick without ever having to get on a bike for 3+ hours.

  5. Strong work (aka suffering) from Tyler and Luke tonight. Jordan took the win in the affiliate team qual wod, and Zan battled her 40 minutes with handstand pushups, like so many ladies this week. And like so many ladies this week, she completed a shit ton more than she ever had before.
