  1. I have been informed this weekend that I am to be deployed to Bahrain this spring. Because of this I will not be able to compete in the games this year. I will no longer be competing in the affiliate team competition.

    1. Sorry to hear you won’t be around for a while. How long will you be deployed? If there’s anything we can do to help, let us know!

Regarding the affiliate team competition. Even if you ultimately won’t be performing in the CF games, you should keep doing the weekly WOD’s and keep your score tracked! You’re a great athlete and competing against you is a blast!

  2. Very sorry to hear you’ll be leaving for a while. Will assist Leah and Chloe in any way we can while you’re gone.

  3. Thanks for all the support guys. It means a lot.

I plan on taking Christina and Alex’s advice and finishing the competition. Should I place in the top 5 I will secede my position at the conclusion.

    1. Hudson, honestly it appears that HQ is going to mandate the affiliate team selection process through the new open sectionals process. In other words, this competition is probably just going to be for fun. However, we may find an interesting way to honor the top placing athletes. Unless you’re injured, I’d love to see you stay in it. Heck, if only for selfish reasons, you make me perform better.

  4. 3 rounds + 24 reps with David

CTB stopped me in my tracks; it took me nearly 3 minutes to do 10!
Thanks Katie for counting and thanks to everyone who was there yelling at me! Wish I could have done better on the CTB.

  5. 7 rounds + 28 reps w/ David.

135 Squat Cleans. Who would have thought they would end up being so difficult. Congrats Christina on another great WOD!

  6. Scott Bean – 5 RDS + 8 reps w/Daniel. Without the push from Justin, I would have not made it past 5 rds. At the end, I had to go to the restroom so bad but didn’t because of trying to keep pace with Justin. I think it would be a first at CFI for someone to pee all over themselves. Thankfully I made it and I am sure you all are also.

  7. 5 rounds + 1 rep w/ Daniel. Really tough workout. A lot of energy being expended with every exercise. Tried to catch up to Scott every round after falling behind on cleans. Went unbroken on everything else. Being on the brink of failure on every clean really made this affiliate WOD the most difficult for me yet. Thanks for the motivation from everyone else in the 5:15 class!

Hudson, sorry to hear about the deployment. Look forward to working out with you before you leave and after you return.

  8. 8 rounds + 2 burpees (322 reps, for Christina’s spreadsheet) with Hudson

Was proud to watch Hudson beat me at 5:15 and Tyler tie me at 6:30. This workout was by far the worst yet. Just a brutal beating for half an hour. Thanks to Christina for counting and the entire crew by the whiteboard for pushing me to finish my eighth round. I wanted to strangle all of you, but strangle you with love. ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. 3 rounds + 7 reps with Christina
Squat cleans totally got to me on this workout. Thanks for your help Christina! Once again you kept me from being a miserable failure ๐Ÿ˜€

  10. 8 rounds + 9 burpees. Thanks to all for the encouragement and Mandy for tracking my rounds. Great job to all who did this one. It was certainly a butt kicker. Different excuses kept going through my head trying to get me to quit. And that was during the first round. David kept me sprinting to catch up.

    Jeff was the trainer.

  11. 7 rounds + 30 reps with Jeff

It was tough mentally to keep pushing through the squat cleans. I tried keeping up with Hudson, but he pulled away toward the end. It was nice having him in my class to get the push. I probably would not have done as well without it. Kudos to Hudson for being the top dog!

Oh, and congrats to Tyler for his solid perform and tying Jeff!

  12. 8 rounds + 2 Burpees. Daniel as Trainer.

Could not have finished this well without the final push from everyone in the Box last night. I wanted to quit on the squat cleans in round seven but you kind kind people wouldn’t let me. Definitely a horrible experience, can’t wait for next week!

  13. 7 rounds + 22 reps

Just did not have it mentally on this one. Strong effort Tyler.

  14. I’m amazed at how close this 30min WOD has been so far, on the men’s side (Sorry I didn’t do any of the math of the women’s side).

Based on posts I’ve seen above:

    329rep Hudson
    322rep Jeff & Tyler
    310rep David
    308rep Alex
    302rep Ryan

In an 1800s AMRAP, the current difference between 1st and 6th is 27reps. Less than 1rep per 66s difference.

David was right, I didn’t have time to stop and get a drink from the water fountain!

    1. Wow, I hadn’t put it in that kind of perspective. The diff between Ryan and Hudson is less than 9% in reps and as you said, less than 1 rep per minute.

In my case, to tie Hudson I needed to do one extra rep every 4.5 minutes. Geez, did I really need to wipe that snot from my face?

  15. 3 Rounds + 27 reps (147 reps) with Daniel.

Squat cleans (well really front squats) kicked my butt, again. I did make a breakthrough on my technique, so I’m happy with that! Could’ve been a bit faster on the CTBs, but I don’t think it would’ve affected my score too much. Thanks for the push from everyone at the end.

  16. 5 rounds + 39 reps. Missing 6 complete rounds by 1 box jump is killing me. Oh, the times I could have rested shorter!

  17. 6 rounds 6 reps with Christina…Thanks to everybody in the lunch class for all the push! This one is a mental beast! Congrats to everyone who pushed through this one.

  18. 5 rounds plus 31 reps.

Made me sick to miss 6 rounds by 9 measly box jumps. The squat cleans killed me on this one, as my front squat capacity is quite low. Felt like each clean was a one rep max as fatigue set in. The cleans affected my grip big time on the pullups. That was a surprise. Great workout, liked the programming on this one.

  19. 4 rounds + 12 reps with Hudson. Thanks Katie and Brittany for the support, paper towels, water, chalk, moving bumper plates, and readjusting my bar! Man I guess all of that stuff is the reason for not getting five rounds ๐Ÿ™‚ Cannot wait to see what the WOD is for next week ๐Ÿ˜‰

  20. 1 round + 10 reps with Christina
more chest to bar pull-ups than I had done total in my life up to that point – so it was a good day! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you so much Christina for coaching and pushing me through this WOD!! I was definitely having an off day and honestly don’t really remember the last half of that workout…I think I was halfway passed out. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Your encouragement (and yelling) is what kept me going!!

  21. 6 rds + 37 reps with Christina.

Thanks to Amanda, Jeff, Hudson, Lindsay and anyone else who cheered me on thru rounds 6 and 7. It was all a blur but never would have completed those last 10 cleans without the push.
