Today the WOD is tornado cleanup, for time.
In our continuing effort to assist area tornado victims, on Sunday 8 May in place of the WOD we will be volunteering to help clear trees at a home in Harvest that sustained significant tornado damage. The work will involve lots of heavy duty tree clearing, sawing, and debris removal. Wear pants, sturdy closed toe shoes, and bring a pair of work gloves. If you have a chainsaw, axe, maul, hatchet, or other tree clearing equipment: bring it! We realize it’s Mother’s Day, so your mother is welcome to come along with you.
We will meet at CFI at 2:30 PM to car pool to the location (see below). We will depart CFI at 2:45 to arrive at the location at 3:00. Work will continue from 3-6 PM, or as long as you are available. You are welcome to come late or leave early if you arrange your own transportation. Let’s put our combined work capacity to practical and charitable use! Contact us at crossfitimpulse@gmail.com if you have any questions.

I’ll be there.
Goal: 15 trees Rx’d.
love it
I’ll be there.
I will be there in spirit. Go get those trees for me!!! I honestly hate to miss out on this. I love cutting trees. I think I should have been a lumberjack.
I’m a lumberjack and I’m okay,
I sleep all night and I work all day.
Chorus: He’s a lumberjack and he’s okay,
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
I cut down trees, I eat my lunch,
I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go shopping
And have buttered scones for tea.
Mounties: He cuts down trees, he eats his lunch,
He goes to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays he goes shopping
And has buttered scones for tea.
Chorus: He’s a lumberjack and he’s okay,
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
I cut down trees, I skip and jump,
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women’s clothing,
And hang around in bars.
Mounties: He cuts down trees, he skips and jumps,
He likes to press wild flowers.
He puts on women’s clothing,
And hangs around in bars.
Chorus: He’s a lumberjack and he’s okay,
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
I cut down trees, I wear high heels,
Suspendies and a bra.
I wish I’d been a girlie,
Just like my dear pappa.
Mounties: He cuts down trees, he wears high heels?
Suspendies…and a bra?
…he’s a lumberjack and he’s okay,
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
…he’s a lumberjack and he’s OKAAAAAAAAAAYYY.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
Ryan, do you have any idea what the hell this means? It mentions mounties, and you are an expert on all things Canadian.
Mounties are mounted police. On horses.
We’ll be there!
Alex and I will both be there. I love that CFI is doing this! I’m all about the volunteering.
This has been my WOD every day since last Wed. I think I’ve about worn out my chain saw–I’m on my third chain now.
Note: In addition to Jeff’s admonition about appropriate protective clothing, take care with where you step–in the areas of the worst damage, glass, sharp edged siding, and lumber with nails are everywhere. There were a lot of injuries to volunteers in Adnerson Hills this past weekend. Also, while the rains of Tues may have helped, a dust mask is advisable due to the sheetrock dust and particles of insulation in the air. I was hacking that shit up all weekend.
Zan and I will be there! I have a new chain saw I need to break in anyways! This is perfect!
